Former First Lady Michelle Obama is set to launch a new cooking show for kid’s on Netflix.
“Waffles + Mochi” features two puppets by the name of Waffles and Mochi, who start their journey to become chefs. Alongside being an executive producer of the show, Obama stars as a supermarket owner.
Obama has always had a heart for children and their health, so this opportunity is certainly befitting. The show says that Waffles and Mochi move from cooking with frozen food made of ice, to learning different ingredients in the “culinary adventure of a lifetime.”
In a statement describing the upcoming show, Netflix said in a statement, “With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”
Obama took to Twitter and said, “I’m beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, I’ll be launching a new show on @Netflix called Waffles + Mochi! I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world.”
Waffles + Mochi will be available for streaming March 16 on Netflix.
