Ryan Reynolds 'Free Guy' Film: A Total "Game Changer"

Ryan Reynolds is back on the big screen and causing laughs in an action-comedy about a video game world.

Reynolds plays the not-so-main character of a video game called “Free City” in the movie. His character Guy is an NPC (non-playable character) who lives his life being as ordinary as can be, never batting an eyelash at the crime surrounding him or trying to change things.

Things take a turn when Guy notices another player in the game and suddenly wants in on the action.

The game world meets the real world in this film, fully immersing the viewer into the gaming world. Luckily, there’s no need for gaming knowledge for viewers to enjoy this film.

The movie is full of pop culture references and gives viewers a look into the modern world of video games. It is packed with action and emotion that is sure to push some buttons that aren’t on a console controller.

By just watching the trailer, viewers won’t know what they’re really in for when it comes to this film. Full of actually game-changing plot twists, this film is definitely worth a trip to the movie theater.

Once again, Reynolds brings the laughter with yet another charismatic character that is sure to be a fan favorite.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the film also features many popular celebrities. Lil Rel (“Fatherhood”), Joe Keery of “Stranger Things” and Jodie Comer of “Killing Eve” also star in this film. Taika Waititi, who is usually behind the camera directing, also makes an appearance in the movie, but this time in front of the camera.

Along with this star-studded cast of film and television celebrities, popular gamer YouTube and Twitch personalities also take part in the film and some unexpected cameos from other well-known celebrities.
