Erica Hubbard Stars in New Holiday Film ‘Merry Little Baby”

“I’m an extrovert and I talk a lot,” says Erica Hubbard in response to how she landed her latest role. A new Christmas film, “Merry Little Baby.” And these days, the actress is busy and traveling a lot. It’s early afternoon, and Erica is in her hometown of Chicago—the Windy City—so she’s staying warm in a black coat and a red beanie that covers the top of her long hair, which falls in loose waves past her shoulders. “A lot of people contact me on social media and I contact them right back…I let no time move by,” says Erica. A director named Denise (Mone’t) hit me up on Instagram and was like, I love your work. I’ve been watching you since Lincoln Heights…Oh, My God, Cassie and “Let’s Stay Together.” The latter is the BET series that ran from 2011 to 2014, and Erica was a main cast member as Kita Whitmore. I humbly said “thank you,” says Erica, about Denise loving her work, so much so, the producer and director flew her in and wrote a script. “I was so grateful because I had been watching her work too. She had a Christmas movie for me, and I love holiday movies.
