Viewers got their first look into the new Showtime drama “The First Lady,” when a trailer was released on Thursday.
In the trailer, viewers were able to get their first look at Viola Davis taking on the role of Michelle Obama.
Alongside Davis, the star-studded drama will also star Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty ford and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt.
Showtime has called this 10-episode drama “revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House.”
The show will be a look into the personal and political lives of these three first ladies.
All of the storylines will interweave and “peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women and their families, tracing their journeys to Washington, dipping into their pasts and following them beyond the White House into their greatest moments.”
The show will not only feature well-known women in these iconic roles, but their male counterparts will be played by Kiefer Sutherland as Franklin Roosevelt, Aaron Eckhart as Gerald Ford, and O-T Fagbenle as Barack Obama.
“The First Lady” will premiere on April 17 on Showtime.
