Houston is poised to become the next major city film hub. And the City of Houston is ready and introduced Bill 22 to a room full of filmmakers during a townhall at city hall.
“There is an incredible opportunity here and talent, says Chris Hollins, City Controller for the City of Houston. It is why he is behind the movement to make H-Town the next film hub, like what Atlanta did over a decade ago. The energy in the room, “It’s about time!” Hollins, serving as the moderator for the Filmmakers In Focus: Investing In Houston Films, spoke to a room full of filmmakers and media on Friday, Nov. 7, at City Hall in Houston, with a panel that consisted of filmmaker, director and Founder of IYO, Isaac Yowman, Texas Film Commission, Ashley Robinson, and Cassandra Ariztegui and Executive Producer and Houston Film Commission, Alfred Cervantes.

Who’s ready for the bright lights and production sounds of future Houston filmmakers and films? Join the conversation to engage in what types of movies you’d like to see created in your city (state).
