Drew Barrymore Praised for "Aging With Grace" in Latest Instagram Post

On Wednesday night Drew Barrymore attended the CFDA Fashion Awards and beamed with joy in a poofy yellow dress made by designer Christian Siriano.

Siriano, who accompanied Barrymore down the red carpet, shared an Instagram post in which he wrote: “Fashion should make us smile like this!!! Oh the Joy of @drewbarrymore.”

Barrymore then went on to make her own Instagram post where she shared several videos and pictures of herself in the yellow dress.

“@csiriano love our dates. Love being in your fantasy dress. Yellow sunshine joy. @chloeiscrazy you are my muse and I live to be yours in any way possible,” she captioned her post.

After making her post, the positive comments from her friends and fans started pouring in.

“So so beautiful!! The woman you have become blows me away!!” wrote Carnie Wilson. “I just love you so much,” added Alyssa Milano.

One fan commented, “Aging with grace. Beautiful Drew.”

“I’m grateful that I can point to you to show my daughter what real beauty is! No filters needed. No crazy surgeries. REAL! Authentic!! Loving yourself in your real skin. Thank you!” added a fan.

Barrymore has always been open about her stance on plastic surgery and even opened up about it in a segment on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this year.

“I’ve never done anything to my face and I would like to try not to,” she told Ross Matthews. “I know myself. I’m a highly addictive person. I do one injection, I’m going to look like Jocelyn Wildenstein by Friday,” she added.

“I think because I’m so rebellious that I saw all of that pressure [of getting plastic surgery], and I saw all of those women torturing themselves to look a certain way and I thought, ‘You miserable people.’ I just never wanted to never be afraid of what life would do to me. I probably went to too many opposite extremes. Now I’m boring and safe and healthy,” said Barrymore.

Barrymore is open-minded when it comes to aging and is aware that it is simply a part of life.

“We’re going to age, things are going to go south, and it’s OK, it’s a part of life. … I feel more human and more vulnerable every year of my life, but I also know how to appreciate every year more and more too,” she said.

Despite making it clear she is happy with her appearance and aging, she said to “Never say never.”
