‘The Rock’ took to Instagram a couple of days ago to share his feelings about his father, former wrestler Rocky Johnson, who passed away from a massive heart attack when a blood clot in his leg traveled to his lung. He was 75.
“I love you. You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world. I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar. The boy you raised to always be proud of our cultures and proud of who and what I am.”
The Rock most recently shared his latest Instagram post, further expressing what his father meant to him and thanking fans for their love and support. “My family and I thank you. Go hug your loved ones hard, while you still can. I love you.” DJ #ripsoulman

The sad news made known around the time Young Rock, a new show on NBC, and based on the childhood of the Jumanji: The Next Level star was announced. The comedy series will air 11 episodes and take viewers on a journey of The Rock’s early life to becoming one of the biggest stars in the WWE.
“We’re going to find the Rock wreaking havoc in the streets of Hawaii getting arrested, says Johnson. We were forced to leave the island and move to all places, Nashville, Tennessee. Those were the years that were very formative and helped shape me. The confluence of wild personalities that came in and out of my life during these times are just fascinating.”
The Rock will star in each episode and is one of the executive producers. His hit HBO show Ballers aired its final season last year. It originally premiered June 21, 2015. Johnson also appears in another NBC show, The Titan Games, where he both hosts and is an executive producer.
“Such is life, the cycle of life,” says The Rock, and with the sudden passing of his father and his flourishing film and television career, he sums it up in these words on Instagram.
“It’s painful, it’s amazing, it’s beautiful, it’s heartbreaking, it’s powerful, it’s a kick in the gut, it can knock you out like it’s knocked me out this week, but the blessing I’m realizing, and we have to manage with something like this is, now you rise, you get back up, and that you live as greatly as possible in the wake of the life legacy your loved ones have left, especially your parent.”
