Singer/Songwriter "RL" On Music, Family and COVID

Singer and songwriter Robert Lavelle Huggar, best known by his stage name “RL” established his career with the 90s R&B group Next with such hits like “Wifey,” “Butta Love,” and “Too Close.” But the Minneapolis, Minnesota native has also penned many songs for artists like Jamie Foxx, Usher, Keith Sweat, and Destiny’s Child, to name a few.

These days the husband and father of an adult son and toddler daughter find comfort in spending time with his loved ones while still creating music in his home studio. The self-proclaimed homebody doesn’t see much difference in his lifestyle. Other than readjusting his schedule from not going on the road as much because of COVID.
