The series is based on the 80’s original and the two action-packed films that followed and starred Denzel Washington. Latifah plays Robyn McCall. “To most of the world, she’s a divorced, single mother raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, Robyn is an anonymous guardian angel who goes by the alias “The Equalizer.” Using her skills as a former CIA operative, she helps those with nowhere else to turn.”

The announcement of the second season came in March. Since its debut in early February, it quickly became a fan favorite and doing well in the ratings.

The awarding-winning singer and actress also wrote on Instagram, “I am so grateful to everyone that made the equalizer the #1 New show on television!!1111111❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
