Beyoncé, a native of Houston, performed for her hometown fans on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the NRG Stadium. Many fans from Houston and some from out of state began lining up on Friday to purchase merchandise and take photos in front of the Grammy Award-winning artist mural, located in the Third Ward—the area where the singer spent her childhood. During the concert, an incident occurred that left some fans fearful. Beyoncé experienced a frightening set malfunction when the car she was performing in started to tilt mid-air while she was singing “16 Carriages.” Fans could hear the singer say, “Stop, Stop, Stop!” as some began to shout, “We love you, Bey!”
The Cowboy Carter star returned to the stage shortly after the incident to continue her set. She later took to her Instagram to address her fans.
“I Love you, Houston.”
