Adele finally released her long-awaited album which she shared would be about her divorce.
“Mama’s been having a lot of big feelings recently,” Adele announced early on in the album.
The album has already become a huge hit and many fans can relate to Adele’s emotions and some of the topics she explores within the album.
Adele’s new album consists of 12 songs, all full of a range of emotions, which fans and critics all around are raving about.
In songs like “Cry Your Heart Out,” Adele sings, “All love is devout,” getting vulnerable with her audience and sharing her heartache.
The album is mostly about, “Divorce, baby,” as Adele herself put it, but it also navigates her turning 30 and the life changes she faced.
The songs range from jazzy backgrounds to songs that feel inspired by Elton John.
Her single “Easy On Me” showed that her vocals are still as beautiful and expressive as they were before, if not more.
In her recent CBS concert special, she introduced “I Drink Wine” where she contrasts deep emotion with some humorous lyrics.
“When I was a child every single thing could blow my mind / Soaking it all up for fun, but now I only soak up wine,” she sings in the song. She then goes on to contrast that with, “Why am I obsessing about the things I can’t control? Why am I seeking approval from people I don’t even know?”
All 12 songs give listeners a peek into what Adele felt throughout her divorce and navigating through those feelings, something she’s not shy to share.
Throughout the album, she shares her emotions accompanied by beautiful instrumental backgrounds. She tells her story without turning the blame on one person and letting the listener know that it’s all on her.
The album is now out on all streaming platforms.
