Reagan Gomez flips her bangs playfully away from her face. “It’s giving 90’s vibes, she says with a slight giggle and giving a nod to her hairstyle crew off camera. “I feel like Aaliyah,” says “The Parent ‘Hood,” who still radiates the same beauty she has had over the years, is between press runs when she catches up with us to talk about her latest film, the holiday movie Unexpected Christmas, executive produced by Tabitha Brown and Lil Rel Howery. Gomez plays Kerry, the “bold and confident” sister to Marissa (DomiNque Perry), who’s a little dangerous with the truth.
“I’ve never played a character like her before,” says Gomez, which drew her to the character. “I respect how serious she is about her career and her goals. I’m definitely that way in many aspects of my life, but where we differ is her people skills and how she deals with her family and her love life, and that’s where we differ, and that made me excited to play this character.”
“The Chi” star talks more about the film, family, giving Robert Townsend — her forever TV dad and mentor — his flowers, using her social voice, and her unexpected Christmas moments in this warm interview. Watch here.
