LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the Lakers team sealed a game six win (106-93) over the Miami Heat to become the 2020 NBA Champions. A bittersweet moment in basketball history was honoring Kobe Bryant and Gigi. They passed away nine months ago in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA, that also claimed seven others’ lives, a “four-month interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” and a boycott by players protesting racial injustice and police brutality.

James was this year’s NBA Finals MVP, which marks his fourth in the span of his 17-year career. The Los Angeles Lakers last win happened in 2010 led by Bryant.

Congratulations Lakers!
