5 Reasons To Love Sports in March

The month of March is packed with events for sports enthusiasts. March Madness, where we see the best of the best in college athletes, aims toward the Final Four in April—the city buzz about Houston hosting a major American event. And let’s not forget about opening day in baseball, along with the deserving attention of a few phenomenal women athletes making a name for themselves while elevating their respective games. Here are our five reasons to watch.

🏀 McDonald’s All American Games  happens on April 2, but the buzz has been on Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter, Me’Arah. The youngest daughter of the former NBA Hall of Famer, who he shares with ex-wife Shaunie Henderson, is a standout 6″3 athlete from Episcopal High School in Houston. The 17-year-old player is ranked No. 33 overall in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings, and committed to playing for the Florida Gators in college. Me’Arah is one athlete to watch who looks to dominate women’s basketball outside her legendary father’s shadows.

🏀 March Madness is always an exciting time in college sports where many athletes have excelled on the court and have become your favorite NBA players. Take this day in 2008, when I then young player, Stephen Curry impressed then 5-year in NBA’er Le’Bron James in 2008.

“On this day in 2008, @StephenCurry30   and @DavidsonMBB  put on a show in front of @KingJames

to beat Wisconsin and advance to the #Elite8 #MarchMadness

âšľ MLB Opening Day: Baseball is back! Fans can enjoy the season openers in their hometowns, like Houstonians, who can catch the Astros’ first game at Minute Maid Park on Thursday. America’s favorite pastime is here for the next six months of home runs.
