The Burbs is a new dark comedy on Peacock inspired by the 1989 film. The show stars KeKe Palmer and a wonderful cast, including Emmy-nominated actress, 14-year-old Kyrie McAlpin, whose face we’ve seen on ABC’s hit drama “Will Trent,” along with standout roles in television and film, including Nickelodeon’s “The Loud House,” and Disney+’s “Cheaper by the Dozen,” with Gabrielle Union and Zack Braff. Kyrie’s performances are consistently praised for their warmth, comedic instincts, and natural emotional depth, a rare combination that continues to set her apart among young emerging leading ladies!
As a recent guest on the Twins of Media Show, Kyrie shares the inspiration she draws from Keke Palmer, whom she describes as a big sister and rich auntie rolled into one. The budding fashion designer, who designed her look at The ’Burbs premiere, also has her eyes set on winning a Best Actress award in the future and directing. Watch what this native Houstonian misses most about H-Town, and in what ways family keeps her grounded, as well as what viewers can expect from her new role, who “adds a youthful perspective to the show’s tension, offering humor, heart, and moments of levity that punctuate the unfolding chaos,” all of this and more in this delightful interview.
Beyond The ’Burbs, Kyrie was nominated for a Children’s & Family Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Younger Voice Performer in an Animated or Preschool Animated Program for her work voicing “Emma” on “Doug Unplugs.”
