Tyler Perry’s Netflix hit “Beauty in Black“ has been renewed for a second season and will be released in two parts like the first.
Though the first season received negative reviews from some critics, it was Netflix’s fourth-most-watched series, with 5.6 million views in its first four days of availability [Wikipedia]. The first season ended with a cliffhanger, leaving the “BIB“ fans ready for season two, with dancer Kimmie marrying into the Bellerie clan by becoming the wife of patriarch Horace (Ricco Ross).
The drama series centers on Kimmie (Williams) and Mallory (Stewart), two Black women whose lives become intertwined. According to the logline, “While Kimmie is struggling to make a living after her mother kicked her out, and Mallory is running a successful business, they find themselves entangled in each other’s lives,” [Yahoo Entertainment].
The Netflix drama also stars Crystle Stewart, Taylor Polidore Williams, Richard Lawson, Debbi Morgan, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Ts Madison to name a few.
There has been no word yet on when Part 1 of Season 2 will premiere.
