Torrei Hart Opens Up Overcoming Her Divorce

In a recent interview with “The Real,” Torrei Hart opened up about her life after her divorce from Kevin Hart.

Adrienne Houghton pointed out how great and fit Hart looked and asked how was it that she achieved it.

“I’m happy, number one, happiness. Number two I started keto,” she said.

She went on to talk about how keto helped her get in better shape and how she even wrote her own keto book called “Skinny B*tch Keto.”

The hosts asked Hart how co-parenting with her ex-husband was and she simply replied, “Easy.”

“Here’s the funny thing, people just assume that for whatever reason that me and Kevin are enemies. I don’t know why, me and Kevin, we go way back. We met when we were 19 and 20,” she said.

She told “The Real” that just because they didn’t work out, they weren’t going to let it affect their children.

“We made a conscious decision to make sure that we want healthy, happy children. So, it’s about our kids, it’s not about us,” she said.

Despite getting a divorce from Kevin Hart, she decided to keep the last name Hart, something that’s common in divorce.

“Me and Kevin also decided he had no issues with me changing my last name and my children also said to me ‘Mom we do not want you to change your last name.’ They wanted the same last name as me and I said ‘Okay guys, I will keep the same last name as you,'” she explained.

“It’s not about me, it’s not about Kevin, it’s about our children and what they want, and one thing that we do well is make sure that our kids are happy and we listen to what they want,” she added.

She talked about going through a breakup, then a breakthrough, a phrase she used to describe how she overcame her divorce.

“Let me tell you, it’s not like it was all peaches and cream because it wasn’t. There was times where I was like God, I don’t want to be here anymore,'” she said.

“Most people when they go through divorce, you know, they don’t have to see it like in their face every day,” she said. “I’m seeing it on TV, I’m seeing it on movies, I’m seeing it, you know, played out on the internet,” she added.

Luckily, Hart was able to have a breakthrough after receiving help from a therapist and the support of her friends and family.

“I made a decision to stay happy, move all the way forward, let the past be the past, start on my new journey,” said Hart.
