The dramedy “The Game” is making a comeback, this time on Paramount+.
During their TCA presentation on Tuesday, Paramount+ revealed the show’s reboot would be out on November 11.
Previously, the show ran on the CW for 3 seasons of 30-minute episodes and then on BET for 6 seasons oh hour-long episodes.
“It never got old, it just had to have an opportunity to reboot itself,” said showrunner and writer Devon Greggory.
“A lot of times series don’t get that opportunity while they’re on the air, and I think that’s a mistake for a lot of television entities and production companies. We should be able to evolve while we’re on air,” he added.
The reboot will still feature several original characters from previous seasons.
Fans can look forward to seeing Hosea Chanchez, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Tim Daely, and Toby Sandeman on this reboot.
Unlike previous seasons based in San Diego, the reboot will be set in Las Vegas and center around Black culture and the world of pro football. It will tackle several social issues like classism and racism, and watch the characters grow in fame, wealth, love, and respect.
“We’re going to come deep with some deep issues because 2021 is different than 2008,” said Greggory.
When it comes to the show’s characters, Greggory said, “These characters never got stale or old, they were always fresh.”
“These characters have evolved in a way where they’re only entertaining,” he added.
