Steph Curry, widely regarded as the greatest shooter of all time, was named the 2025 NBA All-Star Game MVP and won the Kobe Bryant trophy. The event occurred on Sunday in San Francisco at the Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors home, who previously played at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
After their victory over the Rockets in Thursday night’s game in Houston, Curry broke nearly every record in NBA All-Star history. He finished the game with an impressive 50 points, including 16 three-pointers. The only record he did not surpass was the 52 points scored by former Los Angeles Lakers player Anthony Davis, who is now with the Dallas Mavericks, during the 2017 All-Star Game.

Before Steph Curry received his MVP trophy, comedian Kevin Hart was awarded the “Somewhat Valuable Player” (SVP) trophy in a lighthearted moment before the official awards ceremony. This playful gesture aligned with Hart’s role as the master of ceremonies alongside Ernie Johnson, co-host of TNT’s Inside The NBA. Johnson was also in the news for his departure from the TNT sports show, which featured co-hosts Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, amid concerns that ESPN might be unable to save the program.
This year, the format of the All-Star Game was changed. Instead of the traditional East versus West matchup, the teams were divided into four groups: Team Shaq, Team Chuck, Team Kenny, and Team Candace. Ultimately, Team Shaq was crowned the winner of this tournament-style competition.
