Congratulations: Actress, producer, and entrepreneur, Reese Witherspoon will receive the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at The Hollywood Reporters “Annual Women in Entertainment Gala.” THR editorial director, Matthew Belloni praised Witherspoon by saying, “Reese has transformed herself from acclaimed actress to one of Hollywood’s most prolific producers. She is a perfect fit to carry on the legacy of trailblazing women by receiving the Sherry Lansing Award.”

Oscar and Golden Globe winner is in the company of other big names in the industry who have received the same award. Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, Viola Davis, and Helen Mirren are all recipients. The gala is set to take place on December 11th in Los Angeles, California.

Best-selling author, entrepreneur and political activist Stacey Abrams, is this year’s keynote speaker as she will speak to 600 women who are the faces of the industry. Charlize Theron will also be in attendance to present scholarship funds of 1$ million to underprivileged high school students.

The Sherry Lansing Leadership Award was created to recognize leading ladies who are pioneers and philanthropists.
