Choyce Brown Leveraging Social Media for Career and Influence

Choyce Brown, 23, model and social media influencer, is also widely recognized as the daughter of actress, entrepreneur, and vegan influencer Tabitha Brown. She recently sat down with Rosemarie Miller host of the Then They Rose Podcast to discuss leveraging social media for career and influence.

Social media is huge it’s like the biggest thing so if you can do something on there that is different, grab some people’s attention then do it.

When asked about the relevance of social media for career advancement in 2024, Brown offered the following insights. “Social media is huge it’s like the biggest thing so if you can do something on there that is different, grab some people’s attention then do it. The best time is always now, but I would say that I feel like the internet is very congested right now everybody wants to do content, everybody wants to model, everybody wants to have followers, and everybody wants to be big on the internet. So, I would say if you’re going to do it yes, opportunity is there to be different and the only way you can be different is to be yourself.”

Brown also discussed additional steps we can take to achieve success on social media “Consistency and paying attention to what your audience likes that was what I had to do. Sometimes I would post something that just only I like, and I would be like why are they not engaging with me, so you have to realize this is the type of stuff your audience likes, and this is what you’re good at. If you are not so great at talking videos and interacting with the camera then maybe let’s stick to a voiceover or something, that’s my strong suit, I’m not the best at speaking to the camera, but I can do a mean voiceover so it’s literally just finding out what your audience likes and what works best for you and just don’t force it.”

The model discussed the times when she feels the need for a monthly social media detox. “My manager he knows I do not like to post like that unless it just feels right, but I do not force anything, and I do not like overdo it with the social media because it can be draining, yeah I take a break all the time if anything I take a break more than I’m on it, like when you see me post that’s probably the only time I’m on there. I do a quick little post and then I’m logging off. It’s not a bad thing, it’s not because I just hate social media, but it’s a lot, but when you want to get into a lot then you can, it’s always there, but I don’t always want it.”

When asked about handling people in the comments, Brown shared her approach to dealing with them. “I used to be so sad when people would be mean to me because I just wasn’t really used to it, like I was used to it from my classmates growing up, but I wasn’t used to it from like strangers, over time you have to build that thick skin and just realize these people are miserable like literally they don’t have anything else better to do but sit in their room and be on their phone and talk bad about other people on the internet, and that is a sad life like honestly I hope that they heal like you have to pray for people like that.”

Choyce’s authenticity and wisdom, despite her young age, is truly admirable. It’s exciting to watch the evolution of her career journey.
