Britney Spears' Attorney Files for the Removal of Jaime Spears from Conservatorship

On Monday, Britney Spears’ new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed paperwork to have Jamie Spears removed from her conservatorship.

Judge Brenda Penny has now moved the hearing which will now happen on September 29th at the Los Angeles Supreme court.

Jamie Spears has been Britney’s conservator since 2008 and has overseen the pop-stars $60 million fortune.

Since June, the pop star has spoken out about wanting her father to be removed from the conservatorship, calling him “abusive.”

“Less than two weeks ago, we pledged that after 13 years of the status quo, my firm and I would move aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to suspect and remove James P. Spears. It is now a matter of public record, and I announced to Judge Penny this afternoon that we have done so, in less than two weeks,” Rosengart said on Monday.

Rosengart also appeared in court for a briefing regarding a monetary dispute between conservators.

Jodi Montgomery, the star’s temporary conservator, has received death while working on this high-profile case and attended to discuss a dispute about a security fee.

Montgomery has been responsible for Spear’s personal and medical care, while her father has been in charge of all earnings and anything regarding finances.

Earlier this summer, Britney said that she wants Montgomery to continue being her temporary conservator and help her get back into the real world as she continues to fight to end her conservatorship.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been a hot topic in the media and her fans have shown an outpour of support throughout it by spreading loving messages on her social media posts and keeping the hashtag #FreeBritney alive in support of her.

“I once again want to thank Britney Spears for her courage and her fortitude. I want to thank her fans who have been incredibly supportive of her on social media and otherwise, throughout the country and throughout the world. She deserves it and she appreciates it,” said Rosengart outside the courthouse on Monday.
