Fans were recently surprised by a special announcement from Beyoncé and ABC with a behind-the-scenes look at the Lion King album, The Gift.
Anything the singer does tends to catch the world by surprise like her album, The Carters Everything is Love and the Netflix original documentary, Homecoming. Queen Bey has done it once again with no hints of making ‘The Gift’ beforehand. The special premiered on Monday at 10 pm! ABC temporarily changed the network to fit the new release as “ABeyC.”
In The Lion King, Beyoncé stars as Nala and also, she wanted to contribute to the music used in the film for an actual album. One of the most liked songs is “Brown Skin Girl” that includes writing credit from the singer’s 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Beyoncé’s fans known as the Bey Hives expressed their excitement about the album on Twitter. “Beyoncé’s new album makes me want to see the lion king even more now,” one person tweeted.
The special allowed fans to look at the hard work put into every song on the album. Featured guests include husband Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, and Donald Glover. If you have yet to see The Lion King: The Gift it is showing at a theater near you!
