Oprah Pulls Off Surprise 70th Birthday Celebration for Gayle King

If Oprah Winfrey doesn’t throw you an epic birthday celebration, is it official? Well, it was for Gayle King, as the media mogul threw a surprise party for her best friend of over 40 years. King, who turns 70 on Dec. 28, was shockingly caught off guard after she walked into the venue alongside Winfrey as everyone yelled, “Surprise!” With her hand on her chest, King jumped in surprise as her favorite daughter, Kirby, and her favorite son, William, walked up to give their mother hugs. Followed by attendees from the likes of Robert DeNiro, Jeff Bezos, Tina Knowles, Brooke Shields, Ava Duvernay, Sherri Shepherd, Jawn Murray, David Oyelowo, and Dave Chappelle to name a few singing to King, “Happy Birthday!” Winfrey could be seen off to the side pleasantly smiling as she pulled off what she said is a “hard thing to surprise,” King. “O the stories we have made up, the lies we have told to keep this a secret, Happy birthday @gayleking, sorry we almost gave you a heart attack. Winfrey captioned her message with a laughing tears emoji at the end.
