Chadwick Boseman’s legacy continues to live on in Hollywood. On Wednesday morning, he received a nomination for ‘Best Actor in a Drama’ for the 78th annual Golden Globes. This was Boseman’s final performance in a film, and it earned him his first nod from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The beloved actor passed away due to a 3-year battle with colon cancer during post-production. Fans across the world still mourn his death but continue to celebrate his life. 

Boseman is receiving a nomination for his role as Levee Green, trumpet player, in the film “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” directed by George C. Wolfe. The film is an adaptation of August Wilson’s 1982 play about blues singer ‘Ma Rainey” portrayed by Viola Davis. It aired on Netflix in November and is already making headlines for its numerous nominees at the NAACP Image Awards, and now two nominees at this year’s Golden Globes.

The show will air on February 28th on NBC at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET. The ceremony will broadcast from two different locations due to the global pandemic. Tina Fey will host live from the Rainbow Room in New York City, and Amy Poehler will be live from the Beverly Hilton in California.
