Smith also shared a post of the cast again in the Banks living room in a previous post discussing in real life the times when the show aired. Smith, Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), Karyn Parson (Hilary), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) all sat around like old times. And like everyone, James Avery (Uncle Phil) is missed. Avery passed away in 2013, the cast all acknowledging that he was the “heart of the show.” Smith beforehand jokes of his early days on the small screen. “Nobody ever asked me if I could act.” Ribeiro leaned in toward Smith and said, “You couldn’t,” to which Smith bursts into laughter. This team of castmates shows that real-life friendships will continue to keep them together long after the reunion airs, and then there’s always the ‘Fresh Prince’ reruns to keep us entertained.
