Tina Knowles Reveals Breast Cancer Battle in Her New Book  'Matriarch'

In a recent interview with People, Tina Knowles revealed her breast cancer battle, stating.

“I’m doing great, cancer-free, feeling great, and just feeling very incredibly blessed that God allowed me to find that early.”

The businesswoman, fashion designer, and mother to iconic singer-songwriters BeyoncéSolange Knowles, and Kelly Rowland, whom she raised since she was 11, said she struggled with whether she would share that side of that journey because she is private.

“I decided to share it because I think it’s a lot of lessons in it for other women; I wanted to make sure they knew how important it is not to slack on your mammograms because you don’t have to, adding that “we can catch cancer at stage 1 even stage 0.” She said, “I could have caught this at stage 0 if I had not missed my mammogram, but I did because of Covid. They told me they would call me to cancel my appointment, and that was in 2022 and. I didn’t go, and as a result, it was stage 1. It could have been stage 0, so you have to go get your mammograms, and that was a lesson. Revealing that after the surgery, she feels she is the healthiest she has felt in a long time, focusing on what she eats and taking care of herself.

Knowles’s book ‘Matriarch’ is a memoir out Tuesday, April 22, and is available wherever books are sold. It is named Oprah Winfrey’s new book club pick. Knowles will kick off her nine-city book tour on April 30, 2025, in Washington, D.C., and wrap up the tour in London on June 4.
