It’s been recently announced that Amazon Studios acquired the rights to the pitch “Coyote Blue,” which will star Sterling K. Brown.
The film will be written by Derek Kolstad, who is well known for being the screenwriter behind the “John Wick” franchise and “Nobody.”
Hanelle M. Culpepper, known for directing the “Star Trek: Picard” pilot, will be making her feature directorial debut with this film.
The film will star “This Is Us” Emmy award-winning actor Sterling K. Brown as the lead.
In this action film, Brown will play an “everyman” who’s being hunted down by a criminal syndicate for mysterious cargo, and he must navigate through the terrain of Route 66 and unleash his “lethal set of skills” to fight for his survival.
Brown continues to take part in the NBC series “This Is Us,” which is said to end after its upcoming sixth season. He has also starred in “Black Panther,” “Frozen 2,” and narrated the CNN docuseries “Lincoln: Divided We Stand.”
Culpepper and Kolstad are no strangers to working with Amazon Studios. Culpepper is working with Amazon on an upcoming series titled “Anansi Boys” and Kolstad is working with Amazon on an adaptation of the Japanese manga titled “Hellsing.”
Kolstad will produce under DJ2 Entertainment alongside Dmitry M. Johnson and Brown and Danielle Reardon will produce for Indian Meadows Productions.
