HARRIS COMMUNITY WORKS ANNOUNCES

 15TH ANNUAL TURKEY GIVEAWAY 

HOSTED BY FOUNDER TIP “T.I.” HARRIS

JOINED BY ATLANTA CITY COUNCILMEMBER ANDREA BOONE, LOCAL ATLANTA REPRESENTATIVES AND MORE

TO UPLIFT UNDERSERVED FAMILIES & SENIORS IN ATLANTA

 

WHY:  The 15th Annual Turkey Giveaway serves families and seniors in need. These families have come to rely on this Turkey drive every year to make their Thanksgiving meals possible.  During these unprecedented times and despite all the restrictions due to COVID-19, Harris Community Works will continue the tradition and has adjusted the normal indoor Turkey Giveaway to a drive- through pick up.

 

WHO: The event will be hosted by T.I.’s Harris Community Works, a subsidiary of Us or Else Corp (501c3). The non-profit has partnered with the City of Atlanta along with other contributors including Humana, Kroger, AKOO, Bankhead Seafood and more.

 

Grammy Award-winning recording artist, actor and philanthropist Tip “T.I.” Harris will be joined by Councilmember Andrea Boone, family members, friends,  local Atlanta representatives and dozens of volunteers.

 

WHAT: The 15th Annual Turkey Giveaway will provide ​1,000 turkeys and produce​ (greens & sweet potatoes) to pre-selected underserved families and seniors in Atlanta’s Westside community. Each year, families are pre-identified through a city-wide selection with civic agencies and partners. The event will take place outdoors this year and will be ​contact-free and COVID-compliant.

Harris Community Works (HCW), a subsidiary of Us or Else Corp (501c3), is a non-profit, charitable organization that works to empower and elevate the community through education, awareness, and opportunity. HCW focuses on community impact projects that help improve lives through community transformation initiatives, civic engagement efforts, community outreach, and youth development programs. HCW’s mission is to work with public, private, and community partners to ignite change through economic development, neighborhood revitalization, community transformation, support services and programs for distressed communities.
