DJ Cassidy’s “Pass the Mic” featured Bay Area legends during the 2025 NBA All-Star Halftime Show on February 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The crowd was energized as DJ Cassidy started with rapper E-40 performing “Tell Me When to Go.” Too Short then took the halftime show to another level with his anthem, “Blow the Whistle.” Saweetie wowed the audience with her performances of “Tap In,” accompanied by the Warriors dancers, and “Best Friend,” despite Doja Cat’s absence.
Oakland’s singing sensation, En Vogue, also performed “My Lovin’,” featuring a surprise appearance by original member Maxine Jones. Fans hoped to see Dawn Robinson, another original group member formed in the ’90s alongside Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis. Currently, En Vogue performs as a trio with Herron, Ellis, and Rhona Bennett.

Although the halftime show featured some of the Bay Area’s finest musical talent, many fans hoped to see MC Hammer make a cameo appearance. Unfortunately, the “Too Legit to Quit” rapper did not join the lineup. Aside from Hammer, who else would you have liked to see perform from Oakland? We would have loved to see Tony! Toni! Toné!, but it seemed that Raphael Saadiq (born Charles Ray Wiggins) was the only member of the group in attendance, and he performed on stage with background musicians.
