Cypress Woods High School experienced a tough loss in double overtime to Converse Judson. Final score: 78-76. Senior Varsity Guard Dante Peters, who has consistently averaged in the double digits PPG this season, scored 24 PTS, 3 RBD, 3 AST, and 2 STL as the Wildcats played a competitive first game in the Cy-Hoops Invitational. Head basketball coach Michael Draudt had this to say about Thursday’s game results on Cy Woods Hoops’ official Twitter page, “Lost a tough one in double overtime to Converse Judson. Proud of our kids tonight. Showed a lot of fight against a very talented team.”

The Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational was established in 2009. The basketball tournament has 24 teams including the 12 Cypress-Fairbanks ISD boy’s varsity teams. The goal of the Invitational is to engage the community, promote the sport of basketball, foster community spirit, and raise funds for student scholarships. The games are held at the Berry Center and 3 Cypress-Fairbanks ISD high schools. – Berry Center
