Actress Courteney Cox received her first Emmy nomination for her work on “Friends” this Tuesday.

The nomination comes after 17 years since the original series end, and it’s for her work in the HBO “Friends: The Reunion” that she received this nomination.

The HBO special premiered in May and consisted of a sit-down interview of the six stars, bits of script readings, a trivia game, a fashion show, several special guest appearances, and much more.

Throughout the 10-year run of the show “Friends,” Cox’s co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry all received Emmy nominations, but never Cox. Kudrow and Aniston, who were nominated for the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category multiple times, received Emmys for some of those nominations.

In a recent interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” the actress opened up on how she felt to have never been a nominee throughout those years. “I was happy for everybody, and then when it was finally like, ‘Oh, I’m the only one,’ it hurt,” she told the show’s host.

The much-deserved nomination is for Best Special, Pre-Recorded. The actress technically falls under the nomination because she was one of the show’s executive producers along with show’s original creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane.

After hearing the great news, Cox posted a celebratory picture on Instagram with part of the caption reading “The one where we are incredibly grateful.”

The rest of her co-stars are included in the nomination because they were also executive producers, and the HBO special is also up for nominations for the variety special directing, variety special production design, and variety special lighting design/direction categories.
