Podcasts have become more widely used in the wake of the pandemic, so why not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Right?
With a signed multi-deal with Spotify, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan will produce and host podcasts with positive and entertaining messages for their audiences through their newly formed production company Archwell Audio.
Listeners can begin hearing inspirational content from Prince Harry and Meghan later this month. The partnership with Spotify-owned studio Gimlet will produce the show along with Archwell Audio.
“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,” Harry and Meghan said in a statement. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
Early this year, the couple stepped down from their roles as senior members of the British royal family. They now reside in California’s Montecito community. The parents to son Archie later signed a partnership deal with Netflix to make “documentaries, feature films, children’s programming, and more. Prince Harry and Meghan follow another high profile couple, the Obamas, who also signed multi-year deals at Netflix and Spotify. Some of their work includes the documentary American Factory and the “interview show” The Michelle Obama Podcast.
Prince Harry and Meghan “first full podcast series is expected to be released next year as part of the Spotify’s free, ad-supported product, which reaches 320 million people around the world.”
