Meghan Markle visited the University of Johannesburg to express her concern for younger women to access education.
The Dutchess, 38, a graduate of Northwestern University, expressed her desire to create a proficient education system for other black women.

“The fact that she’s a black woman in such a high position of power and the fact that she’s advocating for fellow black women… for someone to be in her position doing what she’s doing for us, it’s incredible,” one female student told ABC News’ Maggie Rulli. “Representation matters”

Meghan’s visit to South Africa meant business, and she did just that. She announced the release of grants used to promote gender equality and students the opportunity to apply for one of the four new scholarships.

“The goal here is to be able to have gender equality ― to be able to support women as they are working in research and higher education roles and also to be able to have workshops to convene things that are really helping people understand the importance of gender equality,” she said, according to E! News.
