Tia Mowry and Loretta Devine star in the new Netflix comedy ‘Family Reunion.’ Mowry (Sister, Sister; The Game) will play Cocoa McKellan, a free-spirited mother of four— from Seattle who is married to a former football player named Moz (Anthony Alabi, Insecure). The storyline shows the family  traveling from the big city (where they live) to the small town of Columbus, GA. There they attend the McKellan Family Reunion and meet extended family members they had not been in contact with. Emmy winner Devine (Grey’s Anatomy, The Carmichael Show) will play the loving but strict matriarch of the family, M’Dear).

Both actresses, expressed their excitement over the new show. “I’m so excited to return to television, especially working with Netflix, and I can’t wait for everyone to see Family Reunion,” Mowry said. “I know my fans are going to love it!” While Devine shared… “I am so blessed to be part of this new and exciting moment in time that will touch and bring laughter, smiles and joy to everyone who sees it. That is Family Reunion for me right now. When you see it, I think you are gonna love it, because it is all about family.…the core of everything,”

Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright and Jordyn James play Mowry and Alabi’s children. Eric Dean Seaton (Modern Family, Prince of Peoria) will direct the 20-episode series, created by Meg DeLoatch (Fuller House, Eve) and written by a talented team of all black writers.
