Reese Witherspoon Pays Tribute to Legally Blonde on its 20 Year Anniversary

Reese Witherspoon recently made a post commemorating the 20 year anniversary of the film “Legally Blonde.

The film, which starred Witherspoon as the main character named Elle Woods, was released July 13th, 2001, and was a legal comedy that showed a woman can have beauty and brains.

The film had a huge success at the box office and sparked a cult following as well as an ongoing franchise.

Twenty years later, and the film still continues to be a hot topic, and for its anniversary Witherspoon shared a tweet saying, “Omigod you guys ….#LegallyBlonde premiered 20 years ago TODAY! Time flies when you’re busy using legal jargon in your every day life.”

Along with her tweet, the actress also shared several behind-the-scenes pictures on her Instagram and called her role as Elle Woods “the role of a life time.”

Her role as Elle Woods earned the actress many award nominations that included a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress and Best Female Performance for the MTV Movie Awards.

Reese Witherspoon will return to her role as Elle Woods in the upcoming “Legally Blonde 3,” which was set to release in 2020 but had pause due to the pandemic. The new release date is now set for May 2022.

Not only will the actress have a role in the film, but she will also help with the production side of the film along with original producer Marc Platt.
