Gayle Kings Daughter says, "I Do."

Over the holidays, Gayle King’s daughter Kirby Bumpus and her boyfriend Virgil Miller tied the knot during a very special wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara, California. The couple had to postpone all the big wedding plans due to the global pandemic, but love wins in the end, especially when your Godmother is Oprah Winfrey. Well, in this case, fairy Godmother.

The two said “I Do” at Oprah’s $6.85 million home, where they socially distanced the entire time. The “CBS This Morning” host revealed on her Instagram that she is finally a mother-in-law, “FINALLY fav daughter @kirbybump gave me permission to share the news she’s a married lady. she & Virgil Miller tied the knot in super small service (6 people) @oprah house in December.” King added how hurt she was that her and Kirby could not interact due to strict COVID-19  rules saying, “I couldn’t even hug her on her wedding day that was haaaaard! “King told O Magazine that, “because [Winfrey] is very strict with COVID, Will and I were not allowed in the house, so I didn’t get a chance to zip up her dress or help her in it, but I knew Oprah covered all that, so I knew she was in good hands,”

The 6-guest included Oprah and her partner Stedman Graham, Gayle King, her son, Will Bumpus, and guest photographer Joe Pugliese. Kirby’s brother officiated the ceremony, and Gayle told O Magazine that, “Nobody knows Kirby the way her brother does, so for him to do the ceremony felt meant to be,” said King. “My son, Will, says, ‘We call ourselves a tripod, and that day with Virgil, we became a perfect square.'” Although the wedding was not the wedding of her dreams, it was defiantly the perfect way to end off 2020.
