Coming To America 2 Ranks Up Its Cast

The sequel to Coming To America has now added Kiki Layne and Wesley Snipes to the cast.

Earlier this year, Eddie Murphy announced that plans for Coming to America 2 were finally coming full circle. Paramount Pictures tapped Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Grown-ish and Girls Trip) as the writer and Craig Brewer (Empire and Hustle and Flow) will direct the sequel. Barris will also executive produce alongside Murphy and Kevin Misher. Original cast members to return are Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, and Shari Headley. According to Deadline, the storyline will focus on Akeem finding out he has a long lost son, played by actor Jermaine Fowler who is a possible heir to his throne of Zamunda.

Layne is set to play Prince Akeem’s daughter, and Snipes will play a new character named General Izzi. Rick Ross, Teyana Taylor and comedian Michael Blackson have also been added to the cast.

Coming to America 2 is set for release December 18.
