Cameron Diaz, 47, and husband Benji Madden,40, are the proud parents of a baby girl, born via surrogate, the couple announced the birth of their daughter, Raddix Madden on January 3 in a statement posted on their respective Instagram accounts.
“We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this decade by announcing the birth of our daughter … She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family … She is really, really cute!! Some would even say RAD.”
So what’s the inspiration behind the name? It’s reported friends of the couple believe “Raddix” is a combination of “rad” (one of their favorite words) and a translation of “new beginning.” Something the retired actress and Good Charlotte frontman have been wanting for some time. Since their wedding in 2015, the duo spent years trying to conceive before welcoming their daughter on December 30. The musician’s brother, Joel Madden, and wife Nicole Richie are reported to be happy for the couple, who are in such a “wonderful place.”
